Mister Pip is the story of a girl caught in the throes of war on the island of Bougainville. The villagers in Mr Pip are absorbed by the reading of a book and the storytelling it kindles. The typography (which is just about legible on the front cover) is unreadable when placed on its side and reproduced at a smaller size. House keeps chugging along, but Hugh Laurie is firming up his plans to appear on a much bigger screen. Mister Pip Normally I'm almost worryingly meticulous about choosing what books I should read but Mister Pip was a spur of the moment choice. He says he has no teaching experience.
